Demanding hike to the Krottenkopfhütte near Farchant, Bavaria.
The Krottenkopf (2,086 m) is the highest mountain in the Bavarian Prealps and offers the experienced mountaineer excellent views. Even if the path is not overly steep, it can be quite strenuous due to the long ascent and the great difference in altitude of approx. 1,500 meters. First the path leads through flat meadow terrain before the steeper ascent begins in the mountain forest. Continuously rising - without flattening - it goes over the Weilheimer Hütte (1,955 m) to the Krottenkopf. The way back leads over the Esterbergalm and Farchant. Magnificent views of the mountain landscape make up for the long distance.
