Great forest hike from Marienthal, Bavaria.
The town of Marienthal is idyllically located on the Regen River. From there the route begins with a steep climb to the Peilstein viewpoint. There is a great view to see before the trail leads back downhill into the Regental. It is possible to stop off at the Landgasthaus Heilinghausen. Then it goes uphill again to Riedelhöhe and Wackelstein ("Wobbling Stone"). The Wackelstein has a diameter of 3m and it can - of course - wobble using the iron chain. From there it goes back into the valley and the route comes to an end.
The starting point is the parking lot directly at the Marienthal bus and ferry stop.
