The start is the parking lot at the Thüringer Hütte (refreshment stops). From there you take the trail towards Rothe Kuppe. When you arrive at the Rothen Kuppe, continue in the direction of the Sennhütte, following the trail signs Rother Kuppe - Sennhütte (black arrow). From the Rothen Kuppe, the trail first runs through the forest and later it leads over open terrain to the Hochrhön and the Black Moor. When you arrive at the Black Moor, follow the red arrow mark, which initially guides you along the Hochrhönstrasse, then crosses it and leads back to the Thüringer Hütte.
