Entenlochklamm Suspension Bridge via Ettenhausen

This hike leads through the spectacular border crossing of the Tiroler Ache between Bavaria and Tyrol. The tour starts at the hiking parking lot in Ettenhausen. The trail first runs through gentle alpine meadows and then leads into the rugged rocky scenery of the Entenlochklamm gorge. A particular highlight is the crossing of the modern suspension bridge, which leads over the deep blue river at a lofty height and provides a direct view of the thundering masses of water. Chamois can often be seen on the steep limestone cliffs of the gorge, while the rare dipper dives for food on the riverbank. As the paths in the gorge area can be narrow, damp and stony in places, sturdy footwear and surefootedness are required.
