Schleching - Geigelstein

Panoramic round tour to the Blumenberg Geigelstein from the mountaineering village of Schleching. The ascent begins in Schleching. From there, the ascent is challenging. The route follows the forest road to the Wuhrsteinalm, from there in large serpentines to the Wirtsalm and through the mountain pine slope to the summit of the Blumenberg. The reward is a magnificent view as far as the Großglockner. Lake Chiemsee, the Kampenwand, the Inntal valley and the Achental valley are all in view. Descend northwards to the Roßalm plateau, along the Schneegraben to Haidenholz, via a path to the Blasialm and back to the starting point. Refreshment stops along the tour include the Priener Hütte (all year round), Roßalm, Haidenholzalm. Due to the abundance of flowers, the Geigelstein has been a nature reserve since 1991. Attention! From the end of March to the end of May, it is forbidden to enter the nature reserve in the direction of Roßalm. Alternative: Descent to the Priener Hütte and from there back via the saddle towards the Wirtsalm.
