Popular stage of the "Goldsteig-Südroute" long-distance hiking trail, Bavaria.
The last Goldsteig stage starts in Ruderting and leads to Passau. On the natural forest paths, the path leads over small elevations and creeks, over footbridges and rooted forest paths along the former Ilztalbahn route down to the Ilz reservoir. It is possible to rent a Zille there. From the Mausmühle, the nature trail leads down to the Oberilzmühle dam with a bathing area. The next break station is the Gasthof-Pension "Zur Triftsperre". The pillars and the dark drift tunnel, which you walk through in a moment, are witnesses of the dangerous wooden drift. An imposing footbridge zigzags to the tunnel. The Goldsteig shortens the Ilzschleife by going through the tunnel and leads inside the Ilzbogen to Hals. Shortly before Hals, the castle ruins of Hals are enthroned on a mountain.
