Böhmerwald-Runde: Mauth - Haidmühle - Strazny

A wonderful, varied and promising bike tour through the Bavarian Forest and the Bohemian Forest National Park. All in all, a somewhat more demanding and hilly route. With a circuit that is suitable for the mountains, however, all inclines can be mastered easily. Route: From Mauth you drive 1 km downhill on the little-traveled country road to Annathalmühle. From here it goes steadily uphill to Mitterfirmiansreut, almost 300 meters in altitude to be mastered. Now on via Vorderfirmiansreut to Philippsreut. You cross the B12 and come to Haidmühle via Bischofsreut. Even on this route, there is usually little vehicle traffic. In Haidmühle, turn left and drive to the Nove Udoli border crossing. From here on the cycle path without motorized traffic along the Cold Vltava to Stozec (Tusset). In Stozec turn left at the crossroads, continue on the cycle route 33 uphill to Ceske Zleby (Böhmisch Röhren). Continue on the country road to Hliniste. Now 2 km on the expressway to Strazny (you can use the wide shoulder). Continue through the center of Strazny, then turn right onto cycle path 1023. Now it goes on the car-free path through beautiful, quiet forests and felt landscapes to Knizecy Plane (Fürstenhut). Only the cemetery remains of the former village. The path now leads over meadows up to Bucina (Buchwald). You cross the border again here and take the national park cycle path to Finsterau. Turn right there, past the museum village down to the Reschbach. Then back along the stream to Mauth.
