The cycle route was revised in 2019 and now starts directly at Endersbach railroad station in Weinstadt and loops through the wine-growing region via Kernen, Fellbach and Remseck am Neckar. From there, the route follows the eponymous Rems river to Aalen. The route can be divided into 4 official stages or individually adapted.
The varied route leads partly through natural landscapes and offers many sights along the way. The cycle path scores points with its safe rideability, well-developed infrastructure and continuous markings in both directions.
It is possible to get on and off at many places thanks to the good public transport connections. There is also plenty of accommodation and shopping facilities. The Rems offers bathing opportunities in places. A detour to the source of the Rems can be planned.
