Relaxed loop in the UNESCO Swabian Alb Biosphere Reserve, Baden-Württemberg.
The start and finish of this loop, which is very easy to walk overall, is the Trailfinger Säge parking lot. Except the wooded area around Trailfinger Kopf, the route runs through open landscapes.
There is a slight ascent up to Gänsewag from the starting point with a beautiful view. From there, the route leads back down into the valley to Gruorn. The village of Gruorn on the Swabian Alb was an extension of the military training area from 1937 and no longer exists as a village today. The inhabitants were resettled. Evidence of this period can still be seen in the medieval St. Stephen's Church, the schoolhouse made of limestone tuff, and several old gardens. A visit to the old village is free of charge.
From there, the route returns to the starting point.
