Albsteig (HW1) Stage 13: Jungingen - Burgfelden

This route is stage 13 of the Albsteig (HW1), a long-distance trail along the northern edge of the Swabian Jura. This specific segment starts in Jungingen and ends in Burgfelden. The hike begins with an ascent to the Hoher Berg, offering views of the majestic Hohenzollern Castle, and leads to the "Hangender Stein," an impressively detached rock block on the Albtrauf escarpment. Passing the Raichberg and the Nägelehaus hikers' hostel, the path continues across wide meadow trails to the Böllat viewpoint, famous for its spectacular sunsets. Overnight stays are available in guesthouses and hotels in Jungingen or Burgfelden; wild camping is prohibited in the nature park. Potable water is accessible in the towns and at the rest houses on the Raichberg, but a supply should be carried for the exposed ridge sections.
