Interesting cycle route on the Rennsteig in the Thuringian Forest. This exciting route starts directly in Neustadt am Rennsteig - but the tour can easily be cycled in both directions. At the start, the route follows the Ilmtal cycle path, as both are identical as far as Langewiesen. Varied hike in Thuringia. From Ilmenau, follow the Ilm and Luther Trail in the direction of Gehren and Paulinzella. The hike leads once around the Brandenberg. The Paulinzella monastery invites you to rest, where there is a small museum that can be visited. You can also take a short break in Singen, where the historic Schmitt brewery is located.
