This loop offers a peaceful journey through the mining heritage of the Hohwald range. Setting out from Georgenbad, shaded woodland paths wind past quiet shelters to the Goldmännchen lookout, providing scenic views over the former Valtengrund quarry. Continuing onward past the Jagdbaude hut, the trail leads to an old Erbstollen drainage gallery, where informational panels detail historical ore extraction. The route weaves along rolling forest terrain before completing the loop back at Georgenbad.

Promising snowshoe hike in Saxony, Germany. From the parking lot it goes over the rails and into the forest at Davidsberg. Along Linzberg and Goldberg and past the old quarry, it goes south past Steinigtwolmsdorf and the German-Czech border. Continue through the forest to the Prinz-Friedrich-August-Höhe. Here you can take a well-deserved break and stop off at the mountain inn before heading back.
