This route follows stage 23 of the certified Saar-Hunsrück-Steig premium trail, connecting Morshausen with Oppenhausen on a historically rich and stunning section. The first part of this 16 km (10-mile) hike features panoramic vistas toward the Eifel mountains and views of the medieval Ehrenburg Castle. After descending into Ehrenburgertal, an ascent leads to the castle, which is open for tours. Beautiful paths then guide hikers into the Ehrbach Valley, home to numerous historic mills....

Eventful hiking route through the Ehrbachklamm near Emmelshausen, Rhineland-Palatinate This route starts in Emmelshausen and leads through the Ehrbachklamm. Start at the Rhein-Mosel-Straße between Gondershausen and Emmelshausen. Past the Baunhöller Mühle, along the Liesenfelder and Preisbach to the rushing Ehrbach. Follow the watercourse through the gorge. Detour to Ehrenburg Castle (unfortunately closed in winter) and via the Bergschluchtenweg to Brodenbach on the Moselle.
