The route can be started, for example, at the hiking car park at "Mother Wehner". Most of the time you walk through the forest, skirting the Haardsee and the nature reserve Brinksknapp, but there is also a longer section along the edge of the forest. From the parking lot, first past the hill grave and the Kohlerschutzhütte to the Finkenberg (132 m). From here past Rennberg (139 m) and the natural monument "Dicken Stein" to Weseler Berg (126 m). Then past Schwarzer Berg (124 m) and Moosberg (92 m) to Dachsberg (123 m). The paths are in good condition and deer can be seen along the way.

This walk explores the heart of the Haard. Finally, it also leads to the Römerbrunnen. A little further after the fountain there is also a statue of Saint John. Most of the hike follows the dirt/gravel trails that lead to these two sights. There is relatively little elevation change. Good for the dogs.
