Based on its classic model in ancient Greece, the run is a straight-ahead marathon and therefore unique in Germany. It leads in a north-south direction from the northernmost municipality of the Darmstadt-Dieburg district to the southern border in the Odenwald, crosses this and ends a few kilometers further south at one of the most popular excursion points in the Hessian Odenwald.
