Best trails near Schönberg

Moderately difficult mountain hike, which leads in the lower part over forest roads and steep paths and in the summit area over stony paths. Unlike the neighboring Seekarkreuz, the Schönberg is a somewhat quieter alternative. The view from Schönberg over the Isar valley to the Karwendel and Wetterstein mountains is astonishingly extensive and invites you to linger a long time.

Panoramic loop to Schönberg, Bavaria. The loop starts in Winkl and leads uphill on beautiful forest and meadow paths to Schönberg. A little fitness is required for the ascent, which is of course rewarded with magnificent views. The Schönbergalm is a great place to stop, which is open all year round. From the hiking car park Hohenburg (720m) on the lane to Lasseln (740m) past the signpost "Mariaeck" following direction SO on the Alpelwand. South of it in some bends roughly the Alpelgraben direction O following up to the prospectively situated Alpel (1206m) up.
