Best trails near Schloss Hohenburg

Popular hike in the Bavarian Pre-Alps. This mountain hike is one of the classics in the Bavarian Pre-Alps. It is particularly suitable as a winter hike. It can be undertaken as a classic hike, with snowshoes or with a sledge across the Hirschbach valley. There are various ascent options that can be used depending on the weather conditions. Great tour with a constantly rising forest path. At the end the path becomes a bit steeper but it is still manageable. In the direction of Aueralm you drive up a hiking trail and then you go downhill again on a trail that is challenging at the beginning. From the trail you come to the forest road.

The route initially leads on the forest road and is easy to walk. This part is also used by mountain bikes. The climb to the ox fight is steep, but not difficult to go. For the descent, which leads first on the ridge towards Spitz-Auerkamp and a bit further, you should at least be sure-footed. You will be rewarded by a beautiful view all around.

The stage from Kreuth to Lenggries is relatively long but also very beautiful and promises some good views. Long stretches of the hike lead through woodland, and you will enjoy a rest at the Hirschberghaus lodge and the fresh water of the Schwarzenbach stream. The Seekarkreuz offers some wonderful views before hiking onwards through the Hirschbach valley to Lenggries. From the hiking car park Hohenburg (720m) on the lane to Lasseln (740m) past the signpost "Mariaeck" following direction SO on the Alpelwand. South of it in some bends roughly the Alpelgraben direction O following up to the prospectively situated Alpel (1206m) up.
