This route follows stage 9 of the Maximiliansweg, a long-distance trail through Germany and Austria, beginning at Schloss Linderhof and ending at the Hörnlehütte. The path departs from the Linderhof palace grounds and climbs via long switchbacks through the forests and krummholz zones of the Pürschling mountain.
