This physically demanding mountain hike leads from the east of Freiburg directly up to the high altitudes of the southern Black Forest. The trail starts in the idyllic Kappler Valley and opens up the steep flanks south of the Schauinsland massif to the Rappeneck viewpoint. The route runs along a varied mix of narrow forest trails, challenging climbs over root-covered paths, and scenic forest roads.
