Best trails in Stenshuvud National Park, Sweden

This loop encompasses the all three heads in the Stenshuvud National Park. The trail can start either at the south entrance to the park or alternately, a large parking lot is found at the main visitor's center and the trail could be started there. This version starts with Kortelshuvud, offering the first of three excellent views of the Baltic. The trail makes its way through Beech Forests down to the visitor's center and along the east side of north and south heads and reaches the north entrance of the park in Kivik. Kiviks Musteri is located 100 meters north of this entrance. From there, the trail takes you over the north and south heads and back to the visitor's center. The trail then takes you down to the Baltic shore, along the sandy beach and finally back through the forest to the South entrance and parking. Show more

The Kortelshuvud trail starts at the southern end of the Stenshuvud National Park. There is ample free parking available (~20 cars). The trail starts by going up the head on a moderate inclined somewhat rocky trail. The views from the head on a clear day are spectacular. The trail continues through deciduous forest to the visitors center parking lot, then east to the beach. The walking is easy on this sandy beach, with patches of round stones. The last component of the hike rolls by a small creek and finally ends back at the parking area. Show more
