Beautiful easy walk through the Bukhansan National Park. Well marked trails to suit all abilities. Easy to get to on the train/ bus from central Seoul (ignore my route - slight detour to see one of the peaks)

Amazingly well maintained trail, with stunning views the whole way up. The top wall of baegunbong actually is a bit overgrown so while it’s the “peak” of this trail, rhe best views are on the way up/down. This hike is a little tough because of the steep elevation gain via stairs but challenging on the way down due to many rocks on the trail that you need to be extra careful to navigate! You pass a bhuddist monastery and some amazing rock formations with people rock climbing on. Overall a great hike in the Bukhansan National Park, good for all skill levels if they take there time and come prepared with good footwear and water.

Fairplay Taegun led the race with a total of 5 people including myself. We started at the Bukhansanseong Visitor Center! We took pictures of all the gates, and as extras, we took pictures of Sangsangbong, Munsubong, Baekundae, and Wonhyobong. The scenery was jaw-dropping, and every spot was a tourist attraction. A great way to see a new side of Bukhansan National Park! The combination of wild dogs and abandoned cats gave me a sad and bittersweet feeling.

Walk from Bukhansan Ui station to the Baegun Information Center (trailhead) is much shorter than the 55 minutes Naver suggests. Also gorgeous! Hike is a steady grade, definitely manageable - especially with all the cats to keep you company! Took a long break at the peak to watch the climbers on the mountain. The AllTrails map ends 1/2 km away from Baegundae peak, but it’s definitely worth the push. Lots of flies at the peak and slightly busy, but certainly worthwhile. :)
