This park is located in western Germany in the low mountain range of the Hunsrück and is part of the Hunsrück Nature Park. As the sixteenth national park in Germany, it was founded in 2015, one year after the Black Forest National Park, and is already considered a hotspot of biodiversity, but is still easy to reach within an hour of Mainz, Trier and Saarbrücken.

The National Park has three official main entrances, the Erbeskopf, Celtic Park and Wildenburg National Park Gates, where information centers await visitors: The National Park exhibition at the Erbeskopf National Park Gate is open daily from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. The Celtic Village National Park Gate, with its replica of a Celtic village, is open from March 30 to the end of October from Thu. to Sat. from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays and public holidays. During the vacations, Mon., Tue. and Wed. are additional days. The wildlife enclosure at the Wildenburg National Park gate is open to visitors daily from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
