Palo Verde National Park is home to one of the most densely populated areas of migratory birds and aquatic animals. There are lagoons, mangroves, grasslands and forests to explore. Being an important migration route, the park can see up to 250,000 birds during certain seasons.

The park is also home to other animals, such as capuchin monkeys, white-tailed deer and howler deer.

Visitors to the park can enjoy several different hiking trails that offer incredible panoramic views. Most of the trails are easy and flat, but a few that head to viewpoints can be a bit more challenging.
