Trail reviews for Turrialba Volcano National Park
As another reviewer said, the Google directions show a different hike up the Turrialba Volcano. As of now, ICETUR runs the hike, and the trail starts at the 6 o'clock position and winds up the volcano counterclockwise. There-and-back the Trail was about 5.5 miles, and it is stunning, starting in the jungle and working towards the bald-faced craters. We were super lucky because the volcano had activity two days before we arrived. We could see the smoke, smell it, and actually hear the fissure at the top! Definitely take the sticks the guides offer because the elevation makes the ascent and descent a challenge!
