Tapantí Macizo de la Muerte National Park (PNTMM) has some important ecosystems and visitors can see both coasts: the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. There are paramos, swamps, non-forested savannas, jungle forests and tall oak forests. It also has five different life zones. The different life zones make it possible for fauna and flora to flourish in the park. Some of the mammals that live in the park are wild goats, pumas, badgers, margays and the lion breñero. There are also more than 260 species of birds, 28 species of reptiles and 28 species of amphibians.

Visitors can take a hike, but it is important to keep in mind to bring an umbrella because it is one of the rainiest areas in the country. Guests can also take a swim in the Rio Grande de Orosi.
