This walk is well-formed and great for all ages and families. The lush ferns and deep forest of Goodenia Rainforest create an idyllic environment to come for a walk in nature. There are great facilities at the trackhead, including a toilet block, bbq, and picnic tables.

An amazing lookout situated on the side of Brown Mountain offering some incredible views of the bega valley below where on clears days you should be able to see out to Bemboka town and beyond.
The story behind the name of the lookout is a sombre one and shows the rich community spirit of the area. Fred Piper was a local bus driver who tragically passed away from a heart attack while trying to clear a path on the Snowy Mountains Highway through a snow drift in the 1950's.
