Best trails in Jerrawangala National Park
The Jerrawangala National Park is located on the Turpentine Range of the Great Eastern Escarpment of the South Coast of NSW near Nowra, on land with a longstanding relationship with Dharawal People. In addition to these cultural ties, the park also protects a variety of natural landscapes including flat plateaus, rugged sandstone cliffs, scree slopes and coastal hinterlands. There are great opportunities to catch scenic views across the coastline and hinterlands and are best seen from the Jerrawangala lookout which is worth visiting whilst in the area.

A beautiful hike Jerrawangala National Park, just south of Nowra on the NSW south coast. This scenic trail meanders along fire trails through the forests of the park and follows along the ridgeline of Boongan Mountain. You will experience vibrant birdlife and find beautiful views of rugged sandstone cliffs across the surrounding hinterlands. Recommended to do this hike from late September to mid October to see the beautiful waratahs!

This trail starts on a motorcross trail just on the north side of the top of Wandean Gap. Following the motorocross trail north until you can descend in to the valley off trail.
There are many fantastic rock structures in this area, and rainforest plant species, keep an eye out for waratahs during spring time.
Heading generally downhill you will eventually come across a moto trail.
Follow this trail south back to Wandean Road, ascend the gap, and if you like explore the cliff line directly...
