Best partially-paved trails in Merseburg

Varied hike between Merseburg and Leipzig, Saxony-Anhalt/Saxony. This almost 34 km long hike offers a great mixture of untouched nature and cultural highlights. Start is the train station in Merseburg, one of the oldest cities in Central Germany. The rest of the hiking trail to Leipzig-Wahren is characterized by pristine alluvial forests and idyllic lakes. Varied bike tour from Merseburg This round trip begins in Merseburg at the train station. First, it leads about half of the way along the Saale, where Bad Dürrenberg is also crossed. For a detour to the graduation tower and the Bad Dürrenberg spa park, we recommend leaving your bike at the Saale and exploring on foot. On the further route, the bike tour passes the watery area around the Südfeldsee, the Runstädter See and the Geiseltalsee before returning to the starting point.
