Best bike touring trails in Römerberg

Varied bike tour on the Rhine, Rhineland-Palatinate. This bike tour follows the popular PAMINA bike trail Rheinauen bike trail from Speyer to Leopoldshafen. The Rhine, the old Rhine oxbow lakes which are under nature protection, and several lakes are among the diverse tour highlights. In summer, this bike tour has a very special bonus: there are numerous swimming opportunities. It's worth taking a short detour to the Streitkoepfle quarry lake (see waypoint on the map) to jump into the cool...

On well-developed bike paths from Römerberg to Germersheim, past Leimersheim to Jockgrimm (with beautiful half-timbered houses and the Lina Sommer Platz). On to Rheinzabern and Rülzheim (past the beautifully situated Dieterskirchel), through the field to Bellheim and Westheim, via Lingenfeld back to Römerberg.

On paved bike, field and forest paths from Römerberg to Speyer, Alt- and Neulußheim, Waghäusel, Phillipsburg, Huttenheim, Rheinsheim, Germersheim and back via Lingenfeld.

The stretch from Mannheim to Weinheim is mostly solid, but partly sandy and unpaved and therefore not suitable for road bikes. As far as Weinheim and from Neckarsteinach, the route runs mainly on cycle paths, some of which are marked.

With the racing bike on quiet roads from Römerberg to Hanhofen and Geinsheim (bike path), Edenkoben, past Ludwigshöhe Castle. To Roth through the beautiful Theresienstraße, further through Weiher into the Modenbachtal, back via Burrweiler, Edesheim, Kleinfischlingen, Weingarten and Schwegenheim.

From Römerberg to Haßloch, from Forst along the German Wine Road to Bad Dürkheim, Leistadt, Weisenheim am Berg, Klein- and Großkarlbach, Gerosheim, Beindersheim, Frankenthal, Ruchheim, Mutterstadt, Schifferstadt and back via Dudenhofen. The route runs mainly on bike paths next to the road, partly on farm roads through the field, and is also suitable for racing bikes.
