Best hard trails in Mützenich

Popular loop through heathland and moorland between Belgium and Germany near Mützenich, North Rhine-Westphalia. During the hike the landscape changes. Two walking routes combined into one around the village of Ternell. Plenty of benches along the way. Easy to walk, except for a few very short sections of the trail. Able to walk at a high average speed if you like. Cyclists can also use this route around the lake. It is possible to park at the Haus Ternell car park. The car park fills up quickly. Especially during the holidays.

This hiking trail starts in Ternell and takes hikers through the Eupen area. A great variety of amenities can be enjoyed along the way: a river, waterfall, reservoir, lake, hills, and beautiful views. This is a lovely hike, but beware when following GPS. The signal is easily lost among the green hills surrounding the Wesertalsperre.

Along the way, hikers pass small lakes, beautiful forests and extensive moorland. The starting point in Ternell is easily accessible by car and public transportation.
