The hike begins at the car park at the edge of the forest in the north of Liblar. It leads through the forests of the Rhineland Nature Park, but the biggest highlight are the many lakes. The route passes five lakes, including: Liblarer See, Bleibtreusee, Heider Bergsee,gorge Lake and Franziskussee. There are also several campsites along the route.
