Best lake trails in Wismar

Picturesque and idyllic circular hike near Wismar in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. This idyllic circular hike leads through the Wallensteingraben, a nature reserve in Wismar. It circles the Mühlenteich and leads past the Jungfernteich. On one side of the lake is the city of Wismar, on the other side is the allotment garden "Hinter dem Mühlenteich". This route begins in the center of Wismar and leads to the Wendorf pier, which offers a beautiful view of the Wismar Bay. There are numerous places to stop for a break on the way there. It makes for a fun activity to do when in Wismar, especially since it's the closest beach area and pier. Definitely worth the trip.

This is a route from Wismar to the island of Poel. It is definitely recommended by bike as it is quite a long distance. Although this is the suggested route once you are on Poel, it is certainly not the only way to go. However, you can see a lot of the island on this way. The nature reserve Fauler See - Rustwerder on the southern tip of the island is worth mentioning.

Tour from Wismar to Wiligrad along Lake Schwerin A nice tour that runs a lot along the water. It begins in Wismar, in the city center, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From here it goes past the Wismar-Kluß pond area on small roads to high Viechel, where you reach the sturgeon waterway of Lake Schwerin. On the way there are always small viewpoints from which you can enjoy a great view over the lake. Finally, the bike tour reaches Wiligrad Castle, which is also worth a visit.
