Best backpacking trails in Spessart

2nd stage of the long-distance hiking trail "Eselsweg" in Hesse. Starting from Mernes, the trail climbs a few meters in altitude, partly through dense forest on narrow paths. Although there is a high proportion of gravel, the fairytale forest paths are the exception. At Lettgenbrunn, the Eselsweg trail leads from the ridge back down into the valley, offering fantastic views of meadows and fields. The place is also perfect for a break.
