Best wildflower trails in Riedenburg

This route follows stage 13, the final leg of the certified "Jurasteig" premium trail, connecting Riedenburg back to the starting point in Kelheim. The official circular hike of the "Bayerns Herzstück" tourism association mainly takes you on footpaths and hiking trails from Riedenburg through the Emmerthal to the Teufelsfelsen, from which you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the Altmühltal. A mountain bike tour on which you can get to know and enjoy all the viewpoints in Riedenburg. The start and end point is the Gasthaus Schwammerl on Mühlstrasse. You can enjoy the view over the Schambachtal and the Kreuzfelsen, at Prunn Castle the view to Riedenburg and Rosenburg, at the Falkenhorst the view over the large Altmühltal loop and the Rosskopf view to Eggersberg Castle.

The varied round starts in the historic city center. If you want, you can also make a detour to Rosenburg Castle from here. Following the hiking sign (black 2 on a yellow background), you walk past the Riedenburger Rotvieherde, across fields and through forests to the Klausenkapelle. You get back to the starting point through the Schambach valley.
