Best long trails in Nordhalben

Official circular hike of the Franconian Forest Tourism. On this idyllic hike, the Köteltalsperre is completely circled once. The path is completely paved and car-free, so it is suitable as a bike tour or for a walk. There is multiple seating along the way. Also recommended for families.

This is part of the circular hiking trail - slate path on the "Green Belt" - Probstzella - Thuringian Forest. The slate path connects interesting geotopes, technical monuments and museums that were created in the historical mining areas in the Thuringian Slate Mountains / Obere Saale Nature Park.

From Nordhalben train station you go over the Grund along the tame Rodach to the former hamlet of Jägersruh, from there over the Schwarzenteich on the ascent to Heinersberg. From there it goes downhill back to the train station.
