The tour leads once around the Katharinenlinde and starts at the Katharinenquelle. According to legend, in the 4th century St. Catherine refused to worship pagan deities here. A linden tree was planted upside down to show whether paganism or Christianity were true. According to legend, the roots began to green and the linden tree grew. The current one, however, was planted in the 19th century because the previous one was felled by a storm.
