Annual hiking event in Saxon Switzerland, Saxony.
The route is the course of the 20th winter solstice hike organised by SBB Dresden.
It starts from the Elbe quay in Bad Schandau and follows the marvellous Panorama Trail to Lichtenhain. As the name suggests, it promises marvellous views.
From Lichtenhain, the trail continues through the Knechtsbach valley, following the stream of the same name. At the Kirnitzschtal / Knechtsbachtal junction, continue along the Kirnitzschtalstrasse for a while onto the Alte Strasse in the direction of a popular highlight of Saxon Switzerland - the impressive Kuhstall rock gate.
The return journey is gradually made via the Räumichtweg path along beautiful forest paths.
