Affensteinpromenade

Scenic hiking trail in the Saxon Switzerland National Park, Saxony. Many unique spots with great views await you on this route. The tour can be started at the bus stop or at the Schrammsteinbaude hiking car park. From there, the trail leads through the narrow Schießgrund and Vorderwinkel gorges to the Obere Affensteinpromenade. From time to time there are many small climbing passages where surefootedness and a little caution are required. The Affensteinpromenade itself is not a developed hiking trail. There are hardly any differences in altitude to overcome, but you do have to climb over a few rocks a few times. Great views and a detour to the Ida Grotto await. On the way back, the route first takes you along the bridle path, which is steep in places but mostly accessible with beams and steps. There are also some secured passages. At the junction with the Schrammsteinweg trail, turn left onto the Zurückesteig trail, a varied path that leads over iron steps and jagged rocks. This main trail of the Schrammsteine introduces the next chapter with its many views. It leads to the famous Schrammstein viewpoint. Return to the starting point via the Obrigensteig.
