Away from the often overcrowded main attractions of Saxon Switzerland (e.g. Bastei with Bastei Bridge), hikers can experience the unique rock formations and caves of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains in a more relaxed way. One of the highlights of the route is the "Pfaffenstein" table mountain, which is known above all for the more than 40 metre high "Barbarine" rock needle and its protected flora and fauna.
