This idyllic circular hike starts at the Schmidt hiking car park near Sankt Hubertus. The route is signposted no. 90. Along the way, you can expect marvellous views of the Rursee to Bergstein as well as Nideggen Castle, idyllic forests and meadow landscapes. In the Kalltal valley, there are frequent changes to the route due to flood damage. The Eifelverein Schmidt is responsible for updating the signposting. A detour to the wildlife park is worthwhile.
