The whole family can enjoy this eventful trail.
You walk along the fresh forest path from the village of Schmidt down to the Rursee lake to Sonnenstrand Eschauel and take the boat from there. Once you arrive in Woffelsbach, you walk back along the water and through the greenery. Enjoy the marvellous views of the lake and the lakeshore. Due to the smuggling of coffee from Belgium to Schmidt during the post-war period, this path was popularly known as the smuggling trail and the church there was named St Mokka.
The Rursee boats sail every hour, but only between April and the end of October. This route can also be taken in the opposite direction. A single trip last cost €5.20 (as of 2022). There are delicious places to stop for refreshments along the way.
