Demanding and adventurous ascent to the Schärtenspitze, Bavaria.
The Schärtenspitze is a popular summit destination above the Blaueishütte. Nevertheless, it is a challenging mountain climb (KS 1/2), which is partially secured. Please note: practice, surefootedness, a head for heights, and fitness are required!
The starting point is the Seeklause car park in Hintersee. From there, a beautiful but constantly steep path leads to the Blauseishütte past the Schärtenalm. From the Blaueishütte, open seasonally, the route climbs towards the Blaueis Glacier. The path to the Hochkalter then branches off to the right and the path to the Schärtenspitze to the left. The route initially leads diagonally to the left via a gully secured with wire ropes. Further on to the south ridge is a short, secured climbing section and a rope-secured gully to overcome. The last part of the ascent is secured and you can enjoy the magnificent view and either take the direct route back the same way or book in advance to spend the night in the picturesque Blaueishütte.
