Demanding and popular circular route in the Bavarian Pre-Alps
Start at the Bayerwald car park, there is a bus stop nearby for those travelling by public transport. The shortest ascent to the Tegernseer Hütte is via a short via ferrata on the Roßstein. Although this route is marked in black, it is well secured and with a head for heights and sure-footedness, a great ascent to the "Eagle's Nest" awaits. The hut is open between May and November.
Along the way, cosy forests, blooming alpine meadows and impressive rock formations are a delight to behold! The hut nestles strikingly in the mountain cliffs and its exposed location offers marvellous views of the Bavarian Alpine foothills. In good weather, the view goes as far as the Zugspitze! The reourn to the starting point goes via the Röhrlmoos Alm.
