Panoramic hike in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps, Upper Bavaria.
A really great tour, which is one of the more challenging ones here in the Bavarian Pre-Alps. Start at the car park directly at the bus stop "Siebenhütten, Kreuth". Along the rushing Hofbauernweissach, the route leads up to Siebenhütten, where you can stop for refreshments between May and October. Following the "Halserspitze" signs, the route then climbs through the Wolfsschlucht gorge and to the Predigerstuhl. In the Wolfsschlucht gorge, there are several passages secured with steel cables and the route leads over small scree fields and large steps. Overall, you should be sure-footed and have a head for heights. The view from the summit of the Halserspitze is unrivalled and well worth the effort!
If you encounter difficulties on the steeper sections in the Wolfsschlucht gorge, it is better to turn back. The tour is marked as a black mountain hike and, apart from a few sections on the descent, is well signposted.
