At the beginning, the trail leads through dense forests, but the closer you get to the Wallberghaus, the more the forest thins out and reveals a wonderful view of the valley. From the Setzberg, you take the same route back to the starting point.

From Sonnenmoos in Rottach-Egern (740m) to Enterrottach (790m) and from there on the hiking trail to Hufnagelstube (960m). From there turn left on the tarmac road along the Schiffbach stream past the Rottachalm (1230m) and the Portnes Alm (1410m) to the Wallberghaus (1507m).
