Popular circular hike in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, Bavaria.
From the tourist information centre, walk downhill towards Walching (Iglhaut bakery) and past the Pfeiffer sports shop. After the Taverne discotheque, turn left and walk to Hussiteninsel (hiking board, seating area). Now turn left and cross the bridge in the direction of Lamberg. After the last house on Lambergerstraße, turn left, pass the old sports field and reach the village of Atzlern. Immediately after the Harrer inn, turn right along the field path and walk until just before the village of Krottenhof. Now keep to the right. On a small hill you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view. After a bench (here you can also take the shortcut via Hasleth to Neukirchen), keep left, walk through a small wood, cross the Schicherbach stream and soon reach the Schicherhof (a hamlet with 3 farms). Walk past the farms until you reach the old Waldlerhaus belonging to the Neumeier family. Here you continue left along field paths, through a hollow lane (unfortunately there are very few left) and arrive in Lamberg. At the end of Lamberg, keep left and take a meadow path back to the Schicherbach stream, which you cross again. Now you reach the tarred road and return to Neukirchen b.Hl.Blut. Alternatively, you can also take the road back to Neukirchen b.Hl.Blut from Lamberg.
Highlights of the hike:
- Neukirchen near Holy Blood
- Hollow lane near Lamberg
- Extensive fields
- Schicherhof farm
