Schanzgrabenweg (Ek07)

Popular circular hike in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, Bavaria. From the hiking board at the church, walk along Siegmund-Adam-Straße towards the upper part of the holiday resort of Warzenried. Immediately at the Parkhotel Böhmerwald complex, the hiking trail turns left into a narrow tarmac road. Passing the hotel complex and several properties, this road leads into Lehmgrubenstraße. Walk up Lehmgrubenstraße on the right for approx. 150 metres until you reach the last property on the left-hand side of the road. There is also a water discharge shaft at this point. Turn left here onto a dirt track. In front of you is a wood which you will soon reach. Walk along the so-called Schanzgraben, a forest path, until you reach a tarred road with little traffic. The Ek7 hiking trail runs to the right along the Schanzweg and turns right onto Böhmerwaldstraße after approx. 100 metres before the national border. Walk along the border strip on the Böhmerwaldstraße for approx. 1.5 km until you turn right onto a forest road. Here you go straight ahead and then come to Lehmgrubenstraße. The hike returns via Siegmund-Adam-Straße, past the Böhmerwald park hotel complex, to the starting point at the church square in Warzenried.
