This wonderful mountain hike begins south of Oberstdorf at the Nebelhornbahn car park (subject to a charge) and leads through the Allgäu High Alps Nature Reserve up to the Rubihorn.
At the foot of this mountain lies the Unterer Gaisalpsee, which is just as breathtaking as the panoramic view from the Rubihorn. A truly dreamlike hike through a secluded high valley! There are places to stop for refreshments, and the route can be reached by bus and train (access to the starting point from Oberstdorf railway station).
As the route climbs steadily through alpine terrain, a reasonable level of fitness is advisable. Sturdy footwear is also highly recommended for hiking in alpine terrain.
