Oberstdorf to Seealpe via Faltenbach

This scenic route ascends through the shaded Faltenbach gorge from the mountain town of Oberstdorf up toward the historic alpine pastures of Seealpe. The trail follows the mountain stream as it cascades down mossy limestone rocks and through dense mountain forest. As the path climbs, views open up toward the Nebelhorn peak and the surrounding Allgäu Alps. Reaching the mountain meadows of Seealpe offers wide vistas over the Iller valley below. The area has a long heritage of traditional alpine farming, where dairy cattle graze during summer months. Sturdy hiking boots with solid tread help with walking on damp wooden steps and uneven mountain paths.
