This is a lovely round through the Bavarian mountains. There are beautiful views of the Eibsee and the Zugspitze and the opportunity to stop off at traditional Bavarian mountain huts. As with any hike in alpine terrain, a certain degree of surefootedness and physical condition is required here, as well as sturdy shoes.
The starting point of this hike is the Eibsee train station (reachable by bus and train). The way back can either be started on foot or, for a fee, with the Bavarian Zugspitzbahn (e.g., from the Riffelß station).
